The flu (also called influenza) is a contagious infection of the airways. It is especially serious for some people. As part of the National Immunisation Program, the flu vaccine is free for:
children over 6 months of age, people over 65 years, people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island descent, pregnant women, and those with significant risk of medical complication.
Vaccination is a safe and effective way to help protect from severe illness caused by the flu.
Due to new practice policies, we will need to identify patients’ needs and provide appropriate care in order to treat patients effectively.
When a patient calls to make an appointment, you will be asked about the nature of the visit to your doctor. In letting us know briefly the reason, we can ensure the appropriate care is given within an appropriate period.
It’s Spring! This month is Liptember! and Steptember. It’s also Body Image and Eating Disorders Week, Asthma Week, Dementia Action Week, and World Awareness Days for Polycystic Kidney Disease, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Lymphoma, Foetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder (FASD), and RUOK? Day.
