The flu (also called influenza) is a contagious infection of the airways. It is especially serious for some people. As part of the National Immunisation Program, the flu vaccine is free for:
children over 6 months of age, people over 65 years, people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island descent, pregnant women, and those with significant risk of medical complication.
Vaccination is a safe and effective way to help protect from severe illness caused by the flu.
Due to new practice policies, we will need to identify patients’ needs and provide appropriate care in order to treat patients effectively.
When a patient calls to make an appointment, you will be asked about the nature of the visit to your doctor. In letting us know briefly the reason, we can ensure the appropriate care is given within an appropriate period.
Keep active with all these events this frosty August. It’s Tradies National Health Month, World Breastfeeding Week, Step Up to Breast Cancer, Dental Health Week, National Stroke Week, Bullying No Way, Brain Injury Awareness, and Speech Pathology Week.
That’s not all. August has a sleighfull of health awareness days too. There’s Jeans for Genes Day, Daffodil Day, International Overdose Awareness Day, National Youth Day, and National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day.
