National Skin Cancer Action Week
The sun doesn’t have to be hot to do damage
It’s Saturday afternoon. The Morgans are heading to the beach. But Lex has forgotten his hat. One of the kid can’t find their sunglasses.
National Skin Cancer Action Week is held in November. The Central Coast is the fourth leading local council for incidence of melanoma.
I’s a timely reminder to Slip, Slap, Slop, Seek, and Slide.

Flu (Influenza) Vaccination
The flu (also called influenza) is a contagious infection of the airways. It is especially serious for some people.
As part of the National Immunisation Program, the flu vaccine is free for:
children over 6 months of age, people over 65 years, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, pregnant women, and those with a significant risk of medical complications. Vaccination is a safe and effective way to help protect from severe illness caused by the flu.

Health Events Calendar
This November is National Skin Cancer Action Week. It’s starting to get warm, but the UV can still but remember to follow the five Ss because skin damage can occur even on cloudy days.
It’s also Movember, World Diabetes Day and Perinatal Mental Health Week.
Check the calendar for any important dates.
