October is for Championing Children
This October puts children in the spotlight. It’s a good reminder to check in on the whole child — their growing body, mental health, development and safety.
From asthma and vaccinations to anxiety, sleep and healthy development, your GP can help support your child through every stage of growing up.

Flu (Influenza) Vaccination
The flu (also called influenza) is a contagious infection of the airways. It is especially serious for some people.
As part of the National Immunisation Program, the flu vaccine is free for:
children over 6 months of age, people over 65 years, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, pregnant women, and those with a significant risk of medical complications. Vaccination is a safe and effective way to help protect from severe illness caused by the flu.
