Odd Socks Day

Each year GROW organises a day Australia-wide where we raise awareness of the serious issue of mental health while endeavouring to reduce the stigma surrounding mental ill-health in a cheerful forum. All of us experience odd days, and that’s okay; the odd socks stand in for those odd days. We hope the community will join us and have a little fun along the way!

We encourage everyone to wear odd socks on Odd Socks Day and start a conversation about mental health because one in five Australians between the ages of 16 and 85 experience mental illness each year. We should talk openly and freely about mental health issues, just as we would with any other physical injury or health problem.

When we wear odd socks, we as a community are helping GROW raise awareness of mental health issues, and together, we are also helping to stamp out the stigma around mental ill-health.
